ALL THE WELCOME OF AN OLD OSTERIA, BUT WITH A PINCH OF MODERN ELEGANCE AND INNOVATIONThe Osteria di Mezzo was established in 2001, in an old warehouse, in one of the oldest and most typical streets of the town of Salò, Via di Mezzo, from which the osteria clearly takes its name.
As soon as you cross the threshold, you will be welcomed into a warm and inviting room , furnished in an elegant, sophisticated way, with just ten tables to allow us to best serve and take care of you.
The osteria was born from the desire to dedicate to the customer all the care and attention typical of Garda’s old osterias , bringing just a little contemporary touch to the great tradition of hospitality.
HISTORY
In 2001, the Vanni family took a risk, that of opening an osteria in an old warehouse, in a small street, away from the passage of the most popular tourist routes.
Capitalizing on years of experience in the tourism and catering sectors, the family invested all of its energy and professionalism into this place.
Mamma Dory entered the kitchen and Papà Gino threw himself into managing the front of house together with their son Mauro, who brought great passion and expertise to entertaining, advising and satisfying the curiosity of customers on wines, dishes and local culture.
Their cuisine reflects authenticity and local specialities, with the key ingredients of authentic flavours and a touch of delicacy. The watchword is care, with the Osteria di Mezzo being a place where every little detail is thought of as fundamental and precious.
All these years, we have received many awards from sector guides and magazines, but the greatest recognition of all are the many customers from all over the world who return to visit us time and time again.
After ten years of service, Mamma Dory and Papà Gino decided to retire and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Thus a new phase began, under the guidance of Mauro and his wife Roberta, continuing the business with renewed passion and a touch of innovation.

OUR CUISINE
YESTERDAY'S CUISINE WITH A CONTEMPORARY TOUCH.
Quality, research and the valuing of local products are the three principles that animate our cuisine.
We use our own cured meats, a fine selection of fresh and mature cheeses from small local producers in Brescia and Bergamo, quality organic honey from Alto Garda Bresciano, and the best extra virgin olive oils from the Garda region.
We pay particular attention to the use of fish freshly caught in Lake Garda, such as perch, lake sardines (Alosa fallax), pike, whitefish (Coregonus lavaretus) and lake trout.
Fresh pasta, ravioli and tortellini are prepared every day, along with breadsticks, bread and focaccia.
Our desserts are all homemade, mostly prepared fresh on the spot, with great care and research into the best ingredients, following the seasons, and with a touch of experimentation.
We therefore offer traditional cuisine revisited in a contemporary key, accompanied by an excellent selection of wines, among the best labels in the Garda region.
For enthusiasts, we offer a fine selection of spirits, including traditional grappas and collector’s whiskeys and cognacs.
